Today was a day of making goat milk lotion, and I had another go at deodorant.
When I decide to make products, I like to do a lot of research. First I look at several recipes on line. I compare them, and look up what ingredients are used for what in the recipes. After a significant amount of research, the testing stage begins. I try what I think will work, then test it myself. Once I feel like I'm close, I have some good friends test my products. That is very helpful!! Usually I have to make my recipe at least three times before I get it where I want it. I do believe I am very close to getting the deodorant recipe where I want it to be. I hope to get it out to my testers this week.
I've been making my lotion for several years now. I did a lot of research when I started making the lotion. I'm very happy with the results! I start with fresh goat milk from a herd of naturally raised goats. Then I use high quality skin healing oils and infuse healing herbs into the oils to really drive the good stuff into your skin. I use just enough stabilizer to give the lotion a long shelf life, but not too much to take away from the basics of being natural. I have to use pump bottles to get the thick lotion out from the bottom of the bottle so all of the lotion can be used. My husband sweetly made the labels, because I fail computers=) It's a fairly lengthy process especially when you make large batches, but it is also fun and rewarding. If you have a scent you would like me to try, just let me know, and I will look into it. I love having new and fresh ideas!
